Ebook About DETECTIVE MARK KNIGHT has a serious problem—one that comes in the form of Auckland Med’s brand-new forensic pathologist. Six feet of delicious blond-haired, scary smart, stern and disapproving hotness—DR EDWARD R NEWTON. The man is miles out of Mark’s league; completely opposite in almost every way, and shockingly immune to Mark’s flirtations. Mark should just let him go. But the alluring doctor has taken residence in Mark’s brain and is messing with his life’s plan—in particular Mark’s determination to skirt attachments and all the self-absorbed drama that goes with them. Mark has spent two years watching his friends drop like flies to the white picket virus, only to suddenly find himself hankering for a hammer and some white paint. Edward, however, doesn’t want a bar of Mark’s roguish charm. But it’s not like Mark can avoid the sexy pathologist—death brings them together on a regular basis. So when a string of murders threatens both their lives and sends them into hiding, something has to give.Book Up Close and Personal: Auckland Med #3 Review :
Even if the people in this series are the same the three books are quite different. Different but very good in their own way.Mark has been in the series since book 1 as he's friends with Josh and he's been the hit it and quit it guy. But that all changes when he meets the bossy, take charge forensic pathologist that is Edward. Edward is the opposite with his need for a slow burn, dating, get to know each other first but the hot detective seems to benthe exception to the rule. But the dating has only just begun when lives are threaten and evidence gets lost . So they have to catch the bad guy if there's going to be any relationship at all.I love how we get to see the men from the previous books and my favourite Cam are still scaring people with his sass and sharp tounge. I'm a bit curious about Edwards colleague Sandy who is described as someone who is like Cam.And every book with a dog in It is immediately better and Tink is a cutie. I love a good m/m romance. There's the whole, two hot men thing, but the thing I really enjoy is a relationship dynamic when both partners are equal. With het romance, even if the female is a kick arse karate queen (and most of them aren't) there's still a powershift in favour of the man.In Up Close and Personal Edward and Mark, a pathologist and a cop, are good at what they do, mostly settled in their lives and both come with a truckload of relationship baggage and phobias. And while they both fancy each other, they're both convinced that it would be a very bad idea to act on the attraction. They're equals.Forced to work together on a murder case that needs both their expertise, they find the attraction hard to ignore. But when danger rears, threatening both them and Edward's dog, they realise that the feelings are real, and they may not actually have time to say how they feel. This is a romance with a mystery element, and as I often read mysteries, there were times when I was itching for the story to get move on, and the angsting over: should we, shouldn't we, am I brave enough to take a chance, would just hurry up and be over. That said, there was a satisfying resolution to both story elements. An enjoyable read and a nice companion to the other books in the Auckland Med series.
